What is it you do in Charlotte, and why?
I’m a corporate executive chef for Compass Group of North America. We run Charlotte Shout! We are the 7th largest employer on the planet and are headquartered right here in Charlotte. I do this job because I’m very artistic and want to help people. At first I wanted to be a doctor, but the joy in people’s faces while eating something I’ve prepared for them is more rewarding than anything.

What makes you sexy, or, what does sexy mean to you?
To be sexy you have to be passionate and have a heart. Sexy is determined by interior beauty. If it’s in here (your heart), then it shines through. A sexy person is genuine, honest, passionate. And of course my English accent helps as well!
What makes Charlotte a sexy city?
Charlotte is a spectacular, young, vibrant city. It’s clean and friendly. I’ve watched it grow over the last twelve years and though I’ve traveled all over the world, Charlotte is a great place to come home to. Really, the people are just so genuine, it’s unlike anyplace else.
Favorite Charlotte hangout?
Of course I love Connolly’s and Ri-Ra and Big Ben. I also enjoy The Forum, Cosmos, Zink; all Uptown places because I live right there.
What are you passionate about?
Food, of course. But also promoting sustainability, making people realize, educating them that in forty years there won’t be any seafood left. Getting people concerned about things like farmers and poultry farms. People are so blasé about it, but we are destroying our planet and gotta do something about it now. I’m also passionate about Charlotte, especially anything culinary oriented like the Charlotte Shout! festival. And just anything that is about taking care of people, like the Make-a-Wish Foundation.

How is being one of Charlotte’s sexiest people going to change your life?
It’ll show people you can just be genuine. It’s quite an honor for me. I feel I’m being recognized for what’s in here, my heart. If can do great things for the city by getting my message out, it shows people they can be themselves and make a difference. Because I don’t change, I’m just who I am and people have to love me for that!
